The Lost: Tibetan Refugees
From 2012-2014 I did a multi-part project on Tibetan refugees. They live all over the world—some as monks, some as teachers, some as farmers, and more. On several different trips, I studied and documented the lives of these refugees in India, Nepal, and the U.S. Many are shunned by society, finding government opposition wherever they go. Few are given citizenship in their adopted countries, leaving them in an endless state of instability and financial throes. I visited, lived with, and even hiked into the Himalayas with several of the Tibetan refugees pictured here.
